See who unfollows you — without installing an app
Most guides about seeing who unfollows you end with "download this app and log in". But you need neither an app nor a login — and you should actually avoid both. Here's why, and how to do it straight from your browser.
Why "without an app" is safer
Apps that promise to "analyze your followers" almost always ask for your Instagram login. That gives them full control of your account — and it's the most common road to hijacked and banned accounts. On top of that, they sit on your phone with their permissions, running long after you've forgotten them.
A browser-based service that never logs into Instagram cannot, by definition, touch your account. There is no access to abuse.
The manual method (free, but impractical)
Technically you can do it all yourself: open your follower list, write down every name, and compare again next week. Missing names = unfollows. With 50 followers that's half an hour's work. With 500 it's hopeless, and with 5,000 impossible — and you still won't see when someone left, or whether a "new" follower is actually someone returning.
That's exactly the job WhoDitched.me automates.
How it works in the browser
- Enter your username at whoditched.me — no password, no download.
- We fetch your follower list — the same one that's publicly visible on your profile.
- We check it again automatically, as often as you choose — from weekly to daily.
- You see every change: who left and when, who's new, who doesn't follow you back — with an optional email report.
Works on mobile and desktop, in any browser. No permissions, no app running in the background, nothing Instagram can react to.
What about private accounts?
Follower lists are visible to everyone on public profiles — that's what makes password-free tracking possible. If your account is private, the list can't be observed from the outside the same way.
Get started in under a minute
Your first full check is free: the entire follower list, plus who doesn't follow you back. Want to track it over time, pricing follows the size of your account.
